Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review all construction documents, including drawings, specifications, scope of work and any supporting information.
  • Prepare quantity takeoffs estimate take offs by gathering information and requirements; setting priorities.
  • Confer with field operations on project requirements, production, job restrictions, staffing, competitive advantages, subcontractor experience, etc., when possible.
  • Able to perform conceptual electrical estimates based on limited drawings and specifications
  • Prepare construction budget by studying plans; specifications; identifying and projecting costs.
  • Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials; identifying qualified subcontractors.
  • Resolves cost discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Ability to perform digital or conventional “take-offs”.
  • Utilize computerized estimating system to comprise an accurate budget or bid.
  • Prepare accurate bidding documents with complete scopes of work.
  • Maintain quality service by following organization standards
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Strong communication skills with Customers, Designers, Engineers, Vendors and Subcontractors.
  • Thorough understanding of industrial construction systems, codes, means and methods.
  • Clear understanding of the Design Build process.


Qualifications:

  • Must have 3-5 years’ experience as an Estimator. Electrical background would be a plus.
  • McCormick or Accubid estimating experience preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report
  • Existing customer base would be a plus.
